How to use Play Time for Kids to Exercise
Playtime is by far the most effective and enjoyable form of exercise. I remember the days of barefoot Racing, Cheering, heaven and hell, big wheels, biking, skating, kickball, dodgeball, double Dutch, day, dragon, dance-offs, snowball fights, hide and seek and what we could still be found to keep us out until our parents threatened us with physical punishment. When I was growing up, outdoor play, pushed everything from homework and cartoons with meals. Who took care of the meals, ifwould only make you lose your place on the winning side kickball team? I apologize for my age shows here but those were good times.
Now we fast-forward into the present. Today, most children's idea of the game is an interactive game for the Wii. Now, many of these games can certainly increase the heart rate and burn some calories, but definitely not to the extent that a lot dodgeball, tag and biking trails. The current generation of children to hear the words, 'Go outside and play "and it is like aForeign language. Not to mention the word "game" has to say a very different meaning than today, 30 years ago. "Play" is now most commonly associated with video games and everything is either present in front of a television screen or computer monitor.
How did we get here? One explanation lies in the transition from an industrial society to a technology for the digital age. These social changes have affected our activity, and not for the better. In our increasinglyactive and looking for ways to make life easier "on our children, we have strongly influenced by increasingly less active. Our parents rewarded us with an extra hour to play outside, while we reward our children with the latest video game release. We walked or rode our bikes wherever we go, while we drive our children everywhere had.
We have only ourselves to blame for our children playing ignorance. If we change this process of education must begin at home.It is not for the Congress, schools or nonprofit organizations, to our children to be physically active for more. Physical education classes will be cut in schools, and many do not have the budget, classes to enroll their children in soccer leagues or ballet.
But despite all this, outdoor playtime is still free. Teach your child about the games you played as a child. These games were good not only as a form of exercise, but for the socialization, analytical thinking and creativity, and much more. Race your child on a nearby track and field. Do you have a dance-off and teach your child about the music of the 70's, 80's and 90's that we all used to house parties until daybreak groove. Make a kite or jointly started a game of kickball in the neighborhood. There is no excuse for why our neighborhoods are now buzzing with the sound of sprinkler systems, rather than the game, scorn and laughter of children. Couch potato parents sit on couch potato children. Let's get playing timeback!
